FAQ

Sorry, this product has no FAQs.

ADJ Appears in the display when pressing the SpeedBar up or down.

When ADJ appears in the display it means you have reached the upper or lower adjustment limit that your thermostat has been set for. You will not be able to set the temperature higher or lower than that point.

After my air conditioning turns off my fan runs an additional minute or two.

Many Braeburn thermostats include a feature called Residual Cooling Fan Delay. This feature allows the fan to run 0, 30, 60 or 90 more seconds after your cooling compressor turns off. This will blow the remaining cool air through your ductwork and increase overall efficiency. To adjust the Residual Cooling Fan Delay feature, please see your users manual. Users manuals are available on this website.

Does my thermostat require batteries?

Some Braeburn thermostats require 2 "AA" alkaline batteries while many newer models can be battery operated, directly wired (hardwired) or both. Check your user manual for specific instructions.

HI is shown in the display where the temperature is normally displayed.

The temperature sensed by the thermostat is higher than the 99° F (37° C) upper limit of the thermostat’s display range. The display will return to normal after the sensed temperature lowers within the 40° to 99° F (4° to 37° C) display range. Turn on the cooling system or use other methods to lower the temperature. This condition could occur from the system being turned off during an exceptionally warm period or upon installation when the thermostat has been stored for a long period of time in a warm vehicle or location prior to being installed.

How do I change the batteries?

To change the batteries in your touchscreen thermostat, remove the thermostat body by gently pulling it from the base. Remove the old batteries from the back of the thermostat body. Install 2 new "AA" type alkaline batteries making sure that the +/- symbols are correctly positioned. Gently push the thermostat body back onto the sub-base.

How do I completely bypass all programming in my thermostat?

To completely bypass all programming, simply press the HOLD button once. HOLD will appear in the display. For as long as HOLD appears in the display the thermostat will not change the set-point temperature unless you adjust it yourself with the up or down SpeedBar. If you wish to return to the program, press the HOLD button again. Hold mode can be used to permanently bypass the program is desired.

How do I get into the User Options mode?

To enter the User Options mode where you can adjust settings, press and hold the CONFIG button for 1 second. The display will then switch to the USER SETTINGS mode. Press the BACK or NEXT button to cycle through the user options and the UP or DOWN SpeedBar to cycle through selections for each particular user option. To exit the User Options model, press RETURN..

How do I temporarily override the program?

You can temporarily override the program at any time by pressing the SpeedBar UP or DOWN until you reach your desired temperature. The program will resume at the next scheduled time setting in your program or 1-4 hours later (this setting is adjustable), whichever comes first. You can return to the program immediately by pressing the HOLD button twice.

How does the circulating fan option work?

Press the FAN button until CIRC appears in the display. When in Circulating Fan mode the fan operates as required by the heating or cooling system (just like AUTO mode). When heating or cooling is not active, the fan will run as needed to ensure a 35% minimum run time.

I have a heat pump system and CHECK has appeared in the display.

Some heat pump systems have a system fault output that, when connected properly to your Braeburn thermostat, will indicate when there is a problem with your heat pump system. For service, call your installer or local heating/cooling contractor.

LO is shown in the display where the temperature is normally displayed.

The temperature sensed by the thermostat is lower than the 40° F (4° C) lower limit of the thermostat’s display range. The display will return to normal after the sensed temperature raises to within the 40° to 99° F (4° to 37° C) display range. Turn on the heating system or use other methods to raise the temperature. This condition could occur from the system being turned off during a cold weather period or upon installation when the thermostat has been stored for a long period of time in a cold vehicle or location prior to being installed.

My heating or cooling system will not turn on at all.

Check to ensure that your set point temperature is a few degrees higher in heating mode or lower in cooling more than your room temperature. Then check to see if HEAT ON or COOL ON appears in the display. If the problem persists, you may have a problem with your heating system that is causing it to not operate properly. You may need to call your installer or a local service contractor in your area.

My heating system (furnace) functions intermittently or doesn't always reach my set point temperature before turning off.

You may have a problem with your heating system (furnace) that is causing it to run intermittently or turn off prematurely. You may need to call your installer or a local service contractor in your area.

My thermostat seems to not be following the program and comes on earlier than it should.

Your thermostat may be entering Adaptive Recovery Mode. Adaptive Recovery Mode is a feature that attempts to achieve your set-point temperature by the time you desire. Because of this, your heat cycle might start up to 2 hours early and your cool cycle might start up to 3 hours early. This all depends on how many degrees of recovery is needed. This feature can be disabled in the Installer Settings. Please see the Installer Manual.

The additional stages of heating or cooling will not operate.

If this thermostat was just recently installed it is possible that it was not configured for the appropriate system type. This thermostat is factory set for a 1 Heat / 1 Cool conventional system. If it is being installed on multistage or heat pump equipment the "System Type" option needs to be adjusted in the Installer Settings mode. Please see the Installer Manual.

The display is flashing the word FILTER, UV or HUMID. What does this mean and how do I remove it?

Your thermostat is equipped with a feature that is used to remind you to check/change your UV light(s) and/or humidifier pad(s). The feature can be set to alert you after a particular number of days have passed. To remove the reminder and start the countdown over, simply press the RETURN button.

The display is indicating HEAT ON or COOL ON but no air is coming out of the vents or the air is not the right temperature.

When the word HEAT ON or COOL ON appears in the display, it indicates that the thermostat is telling the heating or cooling system to run. If the heating or cooling system is not running then there most likely is a problem within the system. Contact a local heating / air conditioning contractor in your area to service your equipment.

The thermostat display reads "NO AC", what does this mean?

If "NO AC" appears in the display, this means that the thermostat has lost AC power from your system transformer. You will most likely need to contact a local heating & air conditioning contractor in your area to service your equipment.

The word AUX is showing in the display. What does this mean?

If you have a multi-stage heating and/or cooling system (2 or more stages of heating or cooling) then this means that the 2nd stage (auxiliary stage) of heating or cooling is running based on the calculated need imbedded in the logic of your Braeburn thermostat. If you do not have a multi-stage heating or cooling system then AUX being displayed does not affect the function of your thermostat or system.

The word EMER is showing in the display. What does this mean?

If the display is flashing the word EMER it indicates that your thermostat is in Emergency Heat mode and that the Emergency Heat is currently running. Emergency Heat is a backup heating system commonly used with heat pump systems. When in Emergency Heat mode your heat pump compressor will not be active. Emergency Heat mode is typically used when your heat pump system is not functioning or when it is too cold outside for your heat pump system to adequately maintain a comfortable temperature.

What type of battery should I use for my thermostat?

If your thermostat requires batteries, use only type "AA" alkaline batteries. Make sure to install the positive (+) and negative (-) ends of the batteries correctly as shown inside the battery compartment.

When I turn on my heating system (furnace) it takes a couple minutes for any heat to come out of the vents.

Most gas furnaces have a short warm up period before the fan will come on and circulate the warm air throughout your ductwork. This is to prevent cool air from blowing at initial startup and is not controlled by the thermostat.

When should I change my batteries?

If your thermostat requires batteries, you need to change them when the battery icon appears in the display. This indicates that the batteries are becoming low and should be changed as soon as possible. Always change batteries when you will be away for a long period of time.

Why do I not see a PROG (program) button on my thermostat?

When initially set up, your thermostat can be configured to be programmable or non-programmable. If it was configured to be non-programmable then you will not have a PROG (program) button. Please see the Installer Manual.

Why is the MORN, DAY, EVE, NIGHT, OCCUPIED or UNOCCUPIED icon flashing in the display?

When one of these icons is flashing in the display it simply means that the program has been temporarily overridden. The program will resume at the next scheduled time setting in your program or 1-4 hours later (this setting is adjustable), whichever comes first. You can return to the program immediately by pressing the HOLD button twice.
